Second Sitting

A grieving mother relives the day her son vanished at the county fair, and every time she goes back, someone else is in it.

In a small Ohio town in 2029, a clinic built inside an old bank vault lets Ruth Ames, seventy-one, walk back into the August day in 1994 when her eight-year-old son vanished from the county fair. The day ends in silent white at 4:12, the moment she looked away. Every time she goes back, a stranger in a grey coat who was never there stands closer to her son, and he knows her name.

Red or green?

Ruth swears the rocket shirt was red. In her day it is green. Which is true, and what does finding out cost her?
