Who we are
Beget Media (“Beget Media”, “we”) makes and streams original films. These terms cover beget.media, pledges, backings and membership.
Pledges are purchases, not investments
A pledge is an advance order for membership in a streaming service. It gives you no ownership, equity, revenue share, profit share or return of any kind, and it cannot be resold or transferred. Perks such as credits, votes and secret scenes are non-financial.
How pledges and charges work
- Saving a card does not charge it. We charge only if the film you backed reaches its goal by its deadline, as described in the auto-renewal terms.
- We email you when a film funds and charge 24 hours later. If you withdraw during that time, you are not charged and the film is still made.
- If you already have a membership when a film you backed funds, nothing more is charged for that pledge.
- Members may add a one-time boost to a film. A boost is charged once, only if that film funds, and does not change your membership.
- A series pledge funds the pilot block of a series. It does not guarantee every episode.
Backing a film
A backing is a one-time amount you choose for one film, from $15 to $5,000. It is a purchase of access and perks, not an investment: it gives you no ownership of the film or its rights, no equity, revenue share, profit share or return of any kind, and it cannot be resold or transferred.
- Your card is saved and charged once, 24 hours after the film reaches $10,000 by its deadline. Backings and membership pledges both count toward that $10,000. If the film does not reach it, the authorization ends and you are never charged.
- “Own the film” means you can stream that film on Beget Media anytime once it is released, with or without a membership. Films are streamed only; there are no downloads and no copies.
- Each amount comes with the perks shown when you back it: backer credits, early access two weeks before members, a behind-the-scenes cut, the premiere watch party, extra voting weight on what we make next, and a say on the next concept shortlist. Perks are non-financial, and there are no physical rewards.
- You can withdraw a backing any time before it is charged. After the charge you can refund the backing amount from your account for 14 days; the film and its perks then leave your account.
- Membership is a separate, optional add-on with its own consent. Backing $25 or more makes the first month free, starting when your backing is charged. It then renews monthly until you cancel, as described in the auto-renewal terms. Until it starts, you can remove it from your account and keep your backing.
Release windows
Each trailer states a target release window. If a funded film misses it by more than 30 days, its backers can choose a refund of the pledge charge or a free month.
Your account and conduct
Keep your sign-in email secure. On theory boards, be kind, do not post anything unlawful or anyone's private information, and do not impersonate anyone. We may remove posts or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before a claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
